For various reasons, such as repairs,re-fits or surveys, mast will have to be 'un-stepped' from a yacht. Shown here is Alan Bristow's "Twirlybird".In 2006 we removed and packed her two masts for transport to Singapore.
We often sail with our clients either if invited for racing or to sail-tune (adjust the Standing Rigging under sailing conditions.Shown here is "Dragon",a Spirit 58' (built by Spirit Yachts of Ipswich) which was launched in July 2009 and competed in the Cowes Classic Regatta.
The art of Classic Rigging is still very much in demand. From refurbishments to entire replacements, we have worked on numerous interesting projects. The item in the photo is a new cap-shroud with a fully refurbished dead-eye and new purchase from the yacht "Annabel J " lying at River Hamble.

Over the years there has been the introduction of new materials for Running Rigging on yachts. Checkstays and Running Backstays once made of galvanised or stainless steel wire, have now been replaced with high strength fibre cables such as Dyneema and as shown here by Kevlar.
